The team and the story behind Tanzania Nomads
At Tanzania Nomads, we believe that traveling should be a true immersion experience. That's why we've mapped out a unique journey with local partners, allowing you to discover the country in a different way: free, safe, and deeply connected to the local reality.
It all started with a meeting. Sainga grew up in the Datooga tribe, deep in the Tanzanian bush. Against all odds, he gained access to education – something that is rare in his community. After his studies, he became a safari guide to share his culture and knowledge with travelers.
During a trip, he crossed paths with Thomas, who is responsible for developing new projects at Travelbase. Together, they shaped Tanzania Nomads: Independent adventure with support, combining local grounding, freedom, and exploration at your own pace.
Together with our local partners in Tanzania, we work year-round on this adventure, with one goal: to provide you with the most authentic and carefully crafted travel experience. A road trip that you won't forget anytime soon, and may even change your perspective on traveling.

In Tanzania, we support the Hawega Foundation, founded by Sainga. The organization is committed to education for Datooga girls and fights against female genital mutilation, all while respecting the local culture.
